Love .45 Interview

My darlings! *Mama* has decided to post her interview with Love .45 even without naming a Band for the week. The boys just got it to me, so it is Hot off the presses..... just for ya'll! Enjoy.....
About Love .45

1.Introduce your selves:
Paul Trinidad Jr.- Lead Guitar/Vocals Danny Elster- Lead Vocals/Bass Guitar Jim Messina- Drums Mick Shivers- Rhythm Guitar/Vocals

2.How did the band get started, How long?
The band started in Denver, Colorado about 6 years ago through an audition process. We are still based out of Denver, Colorado, and we truly love the opportunity to perform in the Southern Colorado area!

3.Original, Covers, both?
Both! Originals can be heard on the myspace page (www.myspace.com/love45) Our last full length CD was recorded in Seattle and produced by 3 Doors Down guitarist Chris Henderson who is a great guy! Originals are awesome to write and express yourself creatively, and covers pay well and are always a good time!

Getting to know You

4.Job that pays the bills?
Covers are a great way to pay the bills and always great fun! It's a blast for us to play and perform some cover music, and the cover crowds like to party to the songs they know and love!

5.Relationship status?
Relationships can be a complicated issue for any or all of us at times, but we definitely love the ladies :)

6.Favorite(food, color, etc.)
Mexican food is the best!

7.Best-worst advice given when starting out?
The best advice was to always keep the writing process going at all times, to keep developing those writing skills and create the best originals possible.

8.One strange-funny thing you can do? Danny is a chain smoker who comes accross as one with ADD. That can always be strange AND funny...lol!

Info and MySpace

9.Where and when can we see ya'll?
Our info and show schedule is available at www.myspace.com/love45

10.How has ya'lls MySpace profile helped the Band? It's great to reach those outside of Colorado.
Thank ya'll for giving me a few minutes of ya'lls time! Looking forward to seeing the show!

Less Than Zero interview

Here it is my darling lil boo*s! *Mama Fashionista*s interview with Less Than Zero!

1. Basic stuff- Who are each one of you and what are your other music projects?
Tim Gates sings lead. Some people may remember him from Positively Negative, a metal band from the 90's that were one of our scenes biggest draws. He's currently working on an album with his new industrial/metal project, 6 POINT SYNTAX.
Cristian Asuncion plays bass and sings back-ups. He's been a working musician since the early 80's, when he used to tour Europe with a metal band made up of army brats called IRON CROSS. He came on to the Springs scene in the early-mid 90's and played bass for the Indie band IDLE HANDS. Some of you might have seen them at such venues as THE EDGE, THE UNDERGROUND, and THE DELUXE TAVERN. Besides his duties with LTZ, he is the singer-songwriter for Godless Promise Mechanism, who have been doing Industrial in this town long before it was fashionable.
Matt Mengel plays guitar and guitar synth. He's been part of the Springs metal scene for what seems like forever. He's been in bands like FREAK SHOW, GPM, THE COLOR INSANE, GRIPPED, and ERASED. Matt is also the primary songwriter for Godless Promise Mechanism, which he decided to revive after a 6 year hiatus.
James Tagawa plays guitar and guitar synth too. He's been part of our scene for a long time as well, playing in such bands as NOXIT, VICTORY BOY, THE COLOR INSANE, and DYE MANIACAL. He currently plays in GPM with Cristian and Matt as well.
Leon Lala is LTZ's drummer and also holds down the beat for Godless Promise Mechanism. He also played with Tim in Positively Negative, so he's been in the scene here for awhile too.

2. I have heard music from everyone's "original" bands and just gotta ask, Why an 80's cover band?
"We definitely consider ourselves more of a tribute band. We're all a bunch of metal heads that play 80's songs because we have a genuine love for the music and the era." says Tim. Everyone is in agreement here, plus it's really fun!

3. How long have you been involved in this business?
Our guess is that we have 60 + years of combined experience. Cristian is the only one in the band that actually has a day job in the industry. He is the house crew steward and production rigger at both the Colorado Springs World Arena and the Pike Peak Center and has been doing production and tours for the past decade.

4. What was the Best or worst advice ya'll were given when you started out?
(*Mama*s note: they went for the worst!!)The worst advice had to be "wear spandex!", says Cristian. We all agree that if it makes you miserable, get the hell out. And you don't have to do all the dope you're offered, it will fuck you up!

5. Who gets all the girls? (feel free to fight amongst yourselves for this honor!)
For LESS THAN ZERO, Tim not only totally brings our sound together, but he's also got the most "fans". "Don't hate the player..........." (*Mama*s note: He is my cutie favorite!)

6. Everyone's first band?
We've all been in metal bands for most of our "careers" and are still involved in some of the hottest metal acts in town. But we totally love to see everyone on the dance floor when we get our 80's on.

7. Are you each still working on other music projects while you do LTZ?
See question 1.(Mama*s note….. Scroll back up if you want, I'm not gonna cut and paste!)

8. Married? Girlfriends? How long? (Single?)
The only single guy in the band is James, but it doesn't mean we don't love you!! (Mama*s note: Damn damn damn, but James is a lil doll too!)

9. How has MySpace helped your exposure?
"We got to meet you, didn't we!!!!" It's a decent tool to help you get the word out about your music and shows, but we think nothing beats old fashioned leg work and word of mouth.

10. When and Where can we see ya'll next?
We're at Thunder & Buttons on Nov. 25th.(Mama*s note: I will be checking the boys out at this show!) We will be back at the Thirsty Parrot Dec. 1st & 2nd. Then it's back to T&B's on Dec. 16th, and Jan. 12th & 13th. We've only done 3 gigs so far so we're still waiting on callbacks from various venues around town. Keep checking our "space" for details. (Mama*s note: I will post the schedule for the yummy ones as soon as the dates come in!)

*Mama Fashionista* simply LOVES these adorable boys! I am sure we will be seeing Alot from them in the future... not only with LTZ but their other projects as well!
Thank you boys for answering *Mama*s silly lil questions... and have a Fabulous time with Less Than Zero!

Band Members
Tim Gates - lead vocals (formerly of Positively Negative, currently with 6 Point Syntax) Cristian Asuncion - bass/vocals (vocalist for GPM) Matt Mengel - guitar and synth guitar (guitarist and songwriter for GPM) James Tagawa - guitar and synth guitar (guitarist for GPM) Leon Lala - drums (drummer for GPM)

Tim is quite the lil dumpling.... with his big spiky hair and tie... I would go
see LTZ just to watch him! (Not to say the other boys aren't as adorable,
*Mama* just has a thing for Tim!)
Each and every one of my lil boo*s should make at LEAST one of these
shows, no excuses! LTZ are sooo cute live, the energy and crowd
interaction is Awesome! Not to mention the covers all sound so "original"
it's almost like you are back in the 80's! Which, BTW, was the BEST
musical era of all time! (Don't argue with *Mama*, it gives me a migraine!)
Look for yours truly at the Nov. 25th show.... you will know who I am... I
promise!
